On Wednesday, Oct. 18, landowners Arlene and Alton Nitschke stand next to Hay Creek as it runs through their 42 acres of land south of Bismarck. Gladstone Rural Fire Chief Joe Wanner said about 52 bales of hay caught fire on a combined trailer heading west on Interstate 94 between Gladstone and Taylor on Tuesday afternoon. 
The fire shut down part of I-94 for sometime to fight the blaze and clean up.
The cause of the blaze is unknown. The driver of the semi was not harmed. (Submitted photo)
