3 injured in crash
Three men were injured after a Glendive, Mont., man allegedly fell asleep at the wheel Wednesday morning, according to a press release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred north of Belfield on U.S. Highway 85.
Alan Hoiland, 46, was traveling south from the Killdeer area to Belfield when his vehicle drifted into the northbound lane. His van struck a vehicle driven by John Lashmett, 42, of Lusk, Wyo., who was driving north from Dickinson to rural Grassy Butte.
Lashmett was traveling north, saw Hoiland approaching and drove onto the right shoulder of the road, according to the release.
Hoiland's vehicle struck Lashmett's pickup and went into the ditch. Lashmett's vehicle also entered the ditch and rolled once.
Hoiland, Lashmett and Lashmett's passenger, Dusty Clark, 44, were all wearing seatbelts and were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Dickinson, according to the release.
None of the men were on St. Joseph's list of patients Wednesday evening.
Hoiland was reportedly cited for care required.
Both vehicles were totaled, according to the release.
