3-minute tornado drill set for Wednesday morning
Stark County is participating in a statewide tornado drill between 10-10:15 a.m. Wednesday.
During the drill, NOAA weather radios will sound and the Emergency Alert System will be activated to simulate an actual event. When the drill is issued, Stark County will be sounding sirens for approximately 3 minutes.
Residents are minded not to call 9-1-1 during this drill, as the number is only for emergency situations.
The county is also reminding citizens that when an emergency warning siren sounds, it is intended to warn people outdoors to seek shelter immediately and tune to weather radios or local and TV stations for additional information.
The sirens will also sound at the usual time of 11 a.m. Wednesday.
