A news release said the Billings County spill was reported by Continental Resources. The company said the production fluid, a mixture of gas, oil and water, leaked from a pipeline into dry drainage, and some reached flowing drainage.

Berms were built on the site to stop further movement of the material, and about 100 barrels of the fluid was recovered by Saturday, according to the Department of Health. Inspectors will be at the spill over the weekend to test the water and soil.

Remediation plans will be coordinated with local landowners and Continental Resources.
