Ag energy efficiency grants, loans now available
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is now accepting applications for the Rural Energy for America Program to help small businesses and producers make energy efficiency improvements. The USDA plans to offer as much as $12.3 million in grants and $57.8 million in loans.
The farm bill reauthorized REAP, which began in 2008.
“REAP grants and loans help rural communities and agriculture producers cut their energy costs while improving efficiency,” U.S. Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D., said in a release.
