Alton Ivey

Alton Ivey, 86, of Regent, ND passed away at the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in Bismarck, ND on January 30, 2014.

Service of Remembrance will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Ulmer-Zich American Legion Hall in Regent, ND. Pastor Ron Schauer will officiate and burial will follow at the Regent Cemetery. Special music will be provided by Truman Savery, Sharon Schauer and Jim Erickson. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 4pm 7 pm at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Mott, ND and one hour prior to the service at the American Legion Hall in Regent.

Serving as casketbearers will be Chris Carlson, Jon Carlson, Ziggy Binstock, Robert Candrian, Jarin Schaible, and Jason Gion.

ALTON BURL IVEY was born in Regent, ND on October 31, 1927 to Alvin and Hattie (Gray) Ivey. He married Laura Johnson on October 17, 1946 and to this union, three children were born, Bruce, Jacqueline and Allan.

Alton was a member of the Regent Sodbuster Saddle Club, served on the Farina Township Board, and was a Board Member of the Congregational Church in Regent. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time hunting. Alton lost his beloved wife Laura on December 10, 1989, and his son Allan passed away in 2006.

Grateful for sharing in his life are his children, Bruce (Dixie) Ivey, Jacqueline Ivey; daughter-in-law Patti Ivey; two grandchildren, Andy Ivey, Allison (John) Sullivan; 3 step-grandchildren, Tammy Thorton, Kelly Schafer, Shane Margeson; one great-granddaughter Eloise; six step great-grandchildren, Brittany, Zack, Emily, Max, Joshua, Jayden; sisters-in-law, Fern Lawrence, Alice Johnson, Zelma Johnson; brothers-in-law, Gary Johnson, Gene Johnson.

Alton was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Laura, son Allan, sister Laverne (Ivey) Olson and brother-in-law Sam Olson.
