Amsbaugh nets hat trick as Braves beat Dickinson

BOTTINEAU — Luke Amsbaugh scored the first three goals for Bottineau-Rugby.

The Braves used the quick start to defeat Dickinson 9-4 in a West Region game on Saturday.

The four goals came from Matt Pavek and Michael McChesney. Pavek finished with four points — two goals and two assists — while McChesney ended with two goals and one assist. Alex Turcotte supplied two assists.

For the Braves, Harrison Aide had four points — one goal and three assists. Noah Grant had one goal and two assists.

Riley Monson picked up the win for Bottineau-Rugby with 25 saves, while Brett Schweitzer was saddled with the loss and made 29 saves.

The Midgets return to the ice for a West Region game against Bismarck Century at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
