Back from the brink: Starved horses recover under care of Hatton couple
HATTON -- After their trailer ride from western North Dakota, Krystal, Ruby, Diamond, Princess, Karmel and Ginger were unloaded at the foot of a 1,000 pound-plus hay bale in the barn.
They made a serious dent in it.
"They ate hay for almost 12 straight hours," Doug Hannestad said. "They were pretty hollow."
