MEDORA (AP) -- A spiritual outreach program has poured the concrete foundation for a year-round retreat center in southwest North Dakota.

The $900,000 Badlands Ministries center on the Little Missouri River a few miles south of Medora will accommodate 50 people for everything from camp activities to retreats.

The Bismarck Tribune says it also will be available to families and groups looking for a place to gather.

Badlands Ministries moved to the 180-acre site five years ago after a land swap with the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation, which wanted the former camp premises and surrounding ranch land to develop the Bully Pulpit Golf Course.

The year-round retreat center will bring total costs of new construction to nearly $5 million.
