Beach and Trinity make top 10 in basketball polls

In the first week of girls basketball polls, two Region 7 teams found itself in the top 10.

Beach ranks in the No. 3 spot, while Dickinson Trinity was No. 8.

The Buccaneers (2-0) garnered 74 points, after they defeated Napoleon on Friday and Linton-HMB on Saturday to open the season.

Trinity (2-0) grabbed 33 points after putting on back-to-back solid defensive displays against Des Lacs-Burlington on Friday and Kenmare on Saturday.

On the boys side, Hazen (5-0) jumped up one spot to be ranked No. 6. The Bison collected 69 points in the third week of the Class B boys polls.

After winning the Roughrider Tournament championship over Dickinson Trinity, New England (4-0) received votes.
