Beach, Trinity remain in top 10 of girls basketball poll

In the second girls basketball poll of the season, Beach and Dickinson Trinity remained in the top 10.

The Buccaneers (4-0) stayed in the No. 3 spot, while the Titans (2-0) moved up one place to No. 7.

Beach is taken wins over Napoleon, Linton-HMB, Wibaux, Mont., and Lemmon, S.D. Trinity has a pair of commanding wins over Bottineau and Kenmare. The Titans’ biggest test comes when the team hosts No. 1-ranked and defending Class B state champion Minot Ryan on Dec. 30.

On the boys side, Hazen dropped two spots to No. 8 after suffering its first loss against Minot Ryan on Friday. For the second straight week, New England (5-0) garnered votes. The Tigers played No. 7-ranked New Town on Jan. 4.

Milnor — the defending Class B state champion — are 7-0 and collected all 14 first-place votes for 140 points.
