Beulah man dead after Monday crash that closed Highway 200
A 49-year-old Beulah man was killed Monday morning after a head-on collision 6 miles west of Killdeer on Highway 200.
Timothy Jankowski was traveling westbound on Highway 200 in a 2000 Mercury Cougar at about 4:45 a.m. en route to Arnegard when he crossed over the center line and struck a 2000 Kenworth semi truck driven by Curtis Booth, a 54-year-old from South Lake Tahoe, Calif.
Jankowski's vehicle came to a rest in the north ditch and Booth's vehicle stopped in the middle of the highway. The semi driven by Booth caught on fire and was engulfed by flames.
Jankowski was pounced dead at the scene and Booth was not injured.
Highway 200 was closed for approximately 5 hours and traffic was rerouted during the closure.
The crash remains under investigation.
