Bismarck High rolls past Midgets
BISMARCK — The Bismarck High boys hockey team put Dickinson in a big deficit and never took its foot off the pedal.
Bryce Nybo and Ryan Gustafson each supplied three points for Bismarck. Nybo had two goals and one assist, while Gustafson had one goal and two assists. Jared Spooner, who started the game leading the Demons in points — seven goals and seven assists — opened the scoring 48 seconds into the second period.
Dickinson junior forward Andrew Heckaman had the lone goal with 13 seconds left in the game. August Kordonowy came on for the assist.
Brett Malkmus was credited with the win after stopping six shots in the first and second period. Hunter Lauer finished out the final 17 minutes making six saves.
Dickinson senior Brett Schweitzer was tagged with the loss. He made 47 saves — including 18 in the second period.
The Midgets return to the ice and travel to play Watford City at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
