Bismarck High, Shanley end regular season atop polls

There were some minor shakeups in the final North Dakota Class 3A and 2A high school football polls Monday, but the top-ranked teams remained the same.

Bismarck High (9-0) is still the unanimous No. 1 in Class 3A while Fargo Shanley (7-2) held on to the top spot in 2A.

Beulah moved up a spot to No. 3 in the Class 2A poll and received the lone first-place vote not awarded to Shanley. Minot Ryan fell two spots to No. 5 after a loss to Bismarck St. Mary's.

Bismarck Century moved up to No. 2 in the Class 3A poll, dropping Fargo South to No. 3. Grand Forks Red River switched spots with Minot High to end the regular season at Nos. 4 and 5, respectively.

The Class 3A playoff quarterfinals begin Friday with the Class 2A quarterfinals starting Saturday.

The polls are voted on by members of the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.
