From cowboys to rig hands, everyone will find something they want or need at Boot Barn.

The western store recently opened in the Prairie Hills Mall in Dickinson, but will celebrate its grand opening Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

"Everybody's like, 'Thanks for coming, we need something like that here in Dickinson,'" Dickinson Manager Carol Magnuson said. "Everybody's very receptive and they're just -- they walk in and go, 'Wow, this is such a cool store.'"

Much of the store is devoted to its large collection of cowboy, work and rain boots, but they also carry work clothes, jeans of all types and even home décor.

"We can suit from an infant to an adult," Magnuson said. "And whatever they're looking for, we can do. If we don't have it, we'll try to get it."

Boot Barn started in 1978 in southern California and recently bought about 30 RCC Western stores, staples in the mall in Fargo, Grand Forks, Bismarck and Minot, and is rebranding them by state. While the company was rebranding existing stores, it also opened up a new location in Dickinson.

"When you hear Boot Barn you think, 'I don't need boots," but give us a shot -- we have Miss Me Jeans, which a lot of the young girls like," Magnuson said.

With the recent rain, the most popular items have been Bog rain boots and other rain gear, but the jeans for young men and women have been popular, too, Magnuson said.

While Boot Barn is new to Dickinson, so is much of its workforce.

"Nobody's from here," Magnuson said, with the exception of one girl who lives on a farm outside of Dickinson.

Many people coming to North Dakota from out west have been recognizing the store.

"Because of this area, a lot of people are already familiar with Boot Barn," Magnuson said. "So they're like, 'Oh, cool, there's a Boot Barn here.'"

Boot Barn is located in the Prairie Hills Mall, 1681 Third Ave W, on the south end of the mall near J.C. Penney and Cine 3 movie theater. Call 701-225-6587 with any questions or visit
