Brine spill reported in Mountrail County releases 258 barrels
ROSS - The North Dakota Department of Health has reported a brine spill in Mountrail County, according to a press release.
A tank on a Statoil well site six miles southwest of Ross overflowed, releasing 258 barrels of brine, according to an initial report. All of the spill has been recovered and the impacted soil has been removed from the site.
The incident is under investigation and the Department of Health is working with Statoil on a remediation plan.
Statoil’s headquarters is stationed in Stavanger, Norway.
