Kevin Abrahamson of Minot was driving a 2005 Kenworth semi truck pulling a trailer loaded with butane en route from Belfield to Ross at approximately 30 mph. He made a left turn from Highway 23 to go north on Highway 8 when, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, he felt a jolt.

The trailer disconnected from the semi and overturned into a ditch. The crash caused damage to the trailer and caused it to begin leaking butane.

Authorities eventually contained the hazardous material leak and the trailer was removed from the scene.

The crash is still under investigation.
