Chancellor Shirvani pushes for UND branch in Oil Patch

GRAND FORKS -- A proposed University of North Dakota campus in the heart of the state's Oil Patch made it as far as committee hearings in Bismarck, but won't get funding this legislative session.

Hamid Shirvani, chancellor of the North Dakota University System, pushed the $33 million plan before he officially began his term in July 2012, according to documents obtained through an open-records request.
