According to a news release from Kostelecky, there is still a burn ban in place, but these changes have been made:

-Charcoal and gas grills can be used when utilized properly and on a flat, non-combustible surface.

-Garbage burn barrels may be used if the individual uses a cover screen and fire fighting equipment, such as a shovel and water hose, is available.

-Fire pits, bonfires and open burning are not allowed.

The release went on to say any burning in Stark County must be monitored at all times.

Individuals who willfully violate the burn ban may face a fine of $500 for the first offense. The second offense is a Class B misdemeanor with a fine of $1,000 and up to 30 days in jail.

These modifications are subject to change at any time.
