Coyotes use 4-goal 2nd period to defeat DHS

WILLISTON — The Dickinson High girls hockey team’s woes continued on its trip to Williston.

The Coyotes dominated the Midgets 8-1 in a statewide matchup Friday night.

Williston scored four unanswered goals by four separate players — Morgan Watters, Keely Kleven, Bethanie Pippin and Sydney Haux, respectively — before Dickinson got on the board. Rachel Lantz scored her team’s only goal at the 8 minutes, 20 seconds mark with assists made by Kira Zastoupil and Hallie Hoffer.

Williston goalie Maddy McLease made a total of 28 saves on the night while Dickinson goalie Paige Fahlstrom saved 35.

The Midgets return home for a pair of weekend statewide games. Dickinson hosts Jamestown at 7 p.m. Friday and Fargo South at 2 p.m. Saturday.
