The Dickinson High girls basketball team staved off a rally for its first win of the season.

The Midgets saw their 20-point lead dwindle, but held on to defeat Dawson County (Mont.) 53-47 on Thursday night at the DHS gymnasium.

"I think we just got nervous," Dickinson head coach Dan Pender said. "We haven't been in those positions a lot. The nerves just took over, but I like how the girls responded."
