WAHPETON — The Dickinson High gymnastics team rebounded in a big way on Friday.

After a tough showing in Jamestown on Dec. 10, the Midgets responded with one of their best scores this season.

Dickinson finished with a score of 147.975 to take first place in the Wahpeton Invitational on Friday.

Acacia Fossum — a Dickinson sophomore and three-time defending state all-around champion — placed first in the all-around with 37.975 points. The score marked her highest of the season. She also won balance beam (9.650) and tied for runner-up in the floor exercise (9.525).

Dickinson sophomore Keana Kudrna took third in the all-around (37.500), while winning the vault (9.525), while senior Mikaela Kessel won floor (9.625).

The Midgets continue their season traveling to Rapid City (S.D.) Central on Jan. 25.
