Dickinson High golf places seventh in first invitational

MINOT — The Dickinson High boys golf team tried to shake off a little rust competing in its first invitational of the season.

The Midgets finished seventh with a team score of 352 during the Minot Invitational on Monday at Souris Valley Golf Course.

Dickinson juniors Tony Kostelecky and Alex Priebe each posted an 85. Carter Donnan, a junior, supplied an 88, while Davis Donnan and Matt Schaefer each had a 94.

Minot edged a win in its invitational with a score of 314. Jamestown came in runner-up with a 315, while Bismarck Century rounded out the top three spots with a 322.

Jamestown’s Austin Rene was the medalist after shooting a 73.

The Midgets continued their season traveling the two-day East-West Classic beginning 9 a.m. Friday at the Jamestown Country Club.
