Dickinson police: Black Friday shopping mostly uneventful
Though Dickinson Police Department Capt. Dave Wilkie said no law enforcement calls came in from retailers during the prime Black Friday hours Thursday night and into Friday morning, though one individual did return to his vehicle to find his merchandise stolen.
Just after 5 a.m. Friday, a call came in to dispatchers from a man who reported $250 worth of merchandise he purchased had been taken from his car while it sat in the Walmart parking lot.
As of Friday morning, police were on the lookout for a 1990s model Ford Escort that may have been involved in the theft.
On Wednesday afternoon, police were called to a residence in the 1300 block of First Street South, where the owner of a rifle reported that that the gun had been taken from a vehicle that was left unlocked outside the residence.
