Dickinson takes 4 placers at Mandan Lions Tournament

MANDAN — Dickinson junior Austin Hutzenbiler placed runner-up at 113 pounds in the Mandan Lions Tournament on Saturday.

Hutzenbiler lost in a 3-2 decision to Bismarck Century’s Nate Humann. The Dickinson junior pinned Bismarck High’s Taylor Nein in the semifinals in 5 minutes, 10 seconds.

Dickinson’s Jaret Lee finished in third place at 120 pounds. He lost in a 6-5 decision to Bismarck’s Kael Knowlen in the semifinals. Lee turned around to defeat Rapid City (S.D.) Steven’s John Henrich in a 5-3 decision.

Clayton Tangen — a Dickinson junior — took home a fourth place finish at 152 pounds after being pinned by Turtle Mountain’s Geraldo Fox. Dickinson senior Devin Berger pinned Century’s Chris Willits for fifth place at 3:54.

As a team, the Midgets finished in eighth place with 125 points. Bismarck won the event with 327 points, while Sturgis (S.D.) was runner-up with 307.

Dickinson has 12 days off before hosting Williston for a West Region dual at 7 p.m. on Dec. 19.
