Highway 85 north of Belfield was closed for about 50 minutes Thursday morning after a power line fell across the road.

A Watford City woman was not injured when she ran into the down line at about 7:30, according to a North Dakota Highway Patrol press release.

Lisa Shipman, 52, was driving a Suburban on Highway 85 about half a mile north of Belfield. The line was across both lanes and she drove into it, according to the press release.

She was able to stop and get out of the vehicle uninjured.

Roughrider Electric responded and cleared the line from her vehicle and the road, according to the release. The highway was blocked for about 50 minutes.

It is unknown why the line fell, according to the release.
