DPD arrests alleged prostitute
A 21-year-old woman was arrested for prostitution early Friday morning by the Dickinson Police Department, Sgt. Dan Brown said.
DPD, acting on a tip, went to the AmericInn to speak with Ashley Williams of Neshkoro, Wis., who admitted to the misdemeanor.
No one was caught in the act, Brown said.
She was taken to Southwest Multi-County Corrections Center where she was released on bond at 8:20 a.m.
While officers were at the AmericInn, they also searched a car with a K-9 unit, which turned up nothing, and caught a drunk driver, Brown said.
The individual answering the phone at the AmericInn on Friday evening said the hotel had no comment.
Prostitution is a Class A misdemeanor, which punishable by a maximum sentence of one year imprisonment and a maximum fine of $1,000.
A phone listing for Williams could not be found.
This is the second time alleged prostitutes have been caught in Dickinson this year; the first was in April when two California women were arrested at the Quality Inn. The charges were later dropped.
