Drusilla (Childs) Zubke was born in Fayette, ND to Frank and Gladys (McCarlson) Childs on December 16, 1926 and was the second of four children. She taught country school nearby Gerald Zubke's farm where he pulled her car out of the mud so many times that they fell in love. They were married in Glendive, MT. on December 9, 1947. Gerald and Drusilla had five children. They were devastated when learning that their son, Deland, was missing in action from the Vietnam War. In her later years, she was honored as a "Gold Star Mother".

Gerald and Drusilla loved dancing, playing cards, snowmobiling and spending time with family. They were members of the Redeemer Lutheran Church all of their lives. She was very active in Ladies Aid and taught Sunday School. She had an enduring faith in God. They traveled many places, especially enjoying Hawaii and California. They worked hard on the farm and milked cows for 40 years. She was active in the Ranch Creek Homemakers. In later years she enjoyed bowling and loved to "four-wheel" with family. She loved flowers especially Petunias.

After Gerald passed away, she moved to Watford City. She especially enjoyed traveling with her sister, Darlene. She enjoyed socializing, playing cards and bingo while at Horizon Assisted Living. Drusilla loved putting puzzles together and you could always see her latest project sitting out on the table. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren loved visiting her and walking over to see the birds at the Good Shepherd Home. She was always ready to show off her family with the pictures she carried in her purse.

Drusilla is survived by three sons, Deveron (Sheila) Zubke, Denton (Margaret) Zubke and Delvin (Tracy) Zubke; a daughter, Del La Mar (Leroy) Schwartzenberger; one brother, Durwood Childs; one sister, Darlene Krieger; one sister-in-law, Avon Childs; thirteen grandchildren, Chad (Silvia) Zubke, Kasi (Kenny) Bergstrom, Denise (Kirk) Hartel, Dylan Zubke, Daryn Zubke, Dustin Zubke, Davis Zubke, Den Na Lee Fewson, Dawn (Donnie) Hustad, Dynae Zubke, Dayna Zubke, Delaynee Zubke and Dawson Zubke; twelve great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews.
