DSU 1,600 relay fails to move to finals
GENEVA, Ohio — It was a bittersweet opening day to the NAIA Indoor National Championships for the Dickinson State track and field teams.
The men’s 1,600 meter relay team ran its fastest time of the season, finishing at 3 minutes, 17.20 seconds but failed to make the finals or make all-American on Thursday.
The top eight teams moved forward and the Blue Hawks finished in ninth place, just fifteen hundredths of a second behind eighth. Indiana Tech finished with the fastest preliminary time at 3:13.55.
The remainder of the DSU qualifiers will begin competition today at 10 a.m.
