Ellison grabs four more years as Medora mayor

The mayor of Medora will keep his position for another four years.

Mayor Doug Ellison defeated former Mayor Mark "Olie" Golberg 33-16 votes. One vote was scattered.

Ellison grabbed the seat in 2008 as a write-in winner.

"I was kind of surprised and appreciative," Ellison said, adding he hopes to continue to work with the council and the city.

Denis Joyce and John Tczap were also re-elected to the Medora City Council. Joyce got 42 votes and Tczap received 30, beating Ben Brannum, who got 20 votes.

Golberg, 55, sat as the head of the city from 1996 to 2006, when he resigned due to health issues.
