Emma T. Dvorak

Emma T. Dvorak, 93, Bismarck, formerly of Dickinson, died January 13, 2014 at a Bismarck care center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. (MDT), Friday, Jan. 17, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, New Hradec. Interment will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, New Hradec.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. (MDT) with a rosary/vigil service at 7:00 at Ladbury Funeral Service in Dickinson.

Emma was born June 14, 1920 in Dickinson to Joseph and Mary (Kubas) Chalupnik. She attended county grade school in Dunn County. Emma married Edward V. Dvorak on November 8, 1944 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Hradec, ND. Ed and Emma farmed N.W. of Dickinson until retiring in 1973 when they moved to Dickinson.

Emma had the most productive garden that produced shelves of canned goods. She also had a special talent for making Kolaches and Koblihy. Ed passed away in 1977. Emma moved to Bismarck in 1999.

Emma is survived by her son David F. (Mary Kay) Dvorak, Bismarck; daughter Mary Ann (Jerry) Imus, Bismarck; sisters Mary Wells, Sheridan, WY; Dorothy Dassinger, Dickinson; and brother-in-law Leonard (Elsie) Dvorak.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edward, son Dennis E. Dvorak, brother Albert Chalupnik and infant sister Gladys Chalupnik.
