Eric Steff, 26, moved to Williston from western New York in January to work in the oil field to pay off his $50,000 in debt from student loans, credit cards and a vehicle loan. Steff lived in his pickup at first and later slept on a church floor before finding work that provides him housing at this man camp.

WILLISTON -- After four nights of sleeping in a pickup in the Williston Walmart parking lot in January, Levi Steff was ready to go home.

But then the 22-year-old from western New York, who moved to the Oil Patch with his older brother, went to a local church service and heard a sermon about not giving up.

"It seemed like the preacher was just speaking to us," Levi said.
