Fred Campbell

Fred Campbell, 64, of Rudyard, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014 in Great Falls.

Fred was born on March 19, 1949 in Miles City, Montana to Fred and Bessie (Willis) Campbell. He was raised in an agricultural community outside of Miles City, called Kinsey. He attended college in Riverton, WY. Fred married Lori Schott in Miles City in February 1973, and they later divorced. They raised their family on a farm in Kinsey while he worked at Fort Keogh in Miles City.

In Miles City and Kinsey, Fred coached many activities from youth baseball and basketball to womens softball. The family moved to Dickinson, ND in 1991. He continued his education at Dickinson State University. While there he helped start up youth baseball, football, and girls softball programs. He moved to Rudyard, MT in 2010 to be close to family and resided there until his passing.

Fred loved playing cards and being around his grandchildren and family. He also enjoyed all sorts of animals and being around them. His greatest passion was impacting young people through athletics. He was a staunch LA Dodgers fan. He never found an argument he couldnt win.

Fred is survived by his children, Brian (Elizabeth) Campbell of Rudyard, Andy (Leah) Campbell of Dickinson, ND, Jill (Dan) Feser, and Freddie Campbell both of Bismarck, ND; brother Jack Campbell of Helena; sisters Sharon Clelland of Miles City, Frankie Christiansen of Great Falls, Kathy Randall of Cheyenne, WY, Glenda Jackson of Miles City and Tammy Foley of Butte; grandchildren Abbie, Alexis, Ryan, Reese, Carter, Joshua, Kinzie, Trey, Brady, and one on the way; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bessie Campbell; brother Bob Campbell; sister Nancy Campbell; and granddaughter, Peyton.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 24, 2014 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will be held at the Custer County Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
