GF runner, crew nearing Williston
WILLISTON — Caleb Kobilansky, a Grand Forks man running from the Red River Valley to the state’s Oil Patch, is nearing his destination in Williston, according to the Bakken Eco Expedition.
The group said he and his crew of four plan to deliver a “letter of solidarity” from some valley residents to Williston Mayor Ward Koeser. They’ll also ask what message the city of Williston wants them to bring back to their friends and families in Grand Forks.
Kobilansky said in a news release that Grand Forks has benefitted from the state’s oil boom but has not had to feel the impact felt by cities such as Williston.
As of Friday morning, he was in Tioga and 57 miles from his destination, the expedition said. He has been on the 360-mile run for more than two weeks and staying in the homes of rural residents and camping along the way.
