A 50-year-old Hazen man was killed Wednesday evening in a crash on Highway 22 outside of Mandaree in McKenzie County.

The man was driving a 2002 Freightliner semi truck behind a 2007 International semi truck being driven by a 30-year-old man from Nevada City, Calif.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at about 6:12 p.m., the Hazen man was driving southbound when he approached the other vehicle from behind but did not stop or slow and ran into the rear end of the semi driven by the Nevada man, who was not injured.

The Hazen man was transported by air ambulance to Trinity Hospital in Minot, where he died from his injuries.
