Hearing scheduled for Beulah shooting suspect
BEULAH (AP) -- A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for one of two men charged in connection with a Beulah shooting that left one man dead and one man wounded.
Twenty-nine-year-old Richard Whitman is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 14 in Mercer County. Travis Finck of Bismarck has been appointed to represent him.
No hearing has been set for 24-year-old Cody Borner. He has been approved for a court-appointed attorney but hasn't been assigned one yet.
The two men are charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit murder in a shooting that left 22-year-old Mike Padilla dead and another injured.
