Heart River withstands Garrison-Max's late rally

GARRISON -- The Heart River football team held on to beat Garrison Max for their first win of the season.

Clayton Tangen scored three touchdowns to lead the Cougars to a 34-33 win over Garrison-Max on Friday.

Tangen rushed for 140 yards, while Kenny Huffstutler had 178 yards and one TD. Tyson Kudrna had an 18-yard run for the team's final TD.

BOWMAN -- The Richardton-Taylor-Hebron football team scored 42 first-half points against Bowman County.

The Raiders used their solid first half to defeat the Bulldogs 48-20 on Friday.

Jaden Schmidt had two touchdowns -- one on a 5-yard run and the other on a 35-yard pass from Lane Voltz. The senior quarterback, Voltz, supplied the team's first quarter touchdown on a two-yard run.

Two of Bowman County's three touchdowns were scored by John Yale from 60- and 86-yard runs. Tel Lardy scored the teams other TD.

ELGIN -- The game was over for Mott-Regent by the end of the first quarter. Grant County-Flasher scored 38 points in the first quarter of its 88-14 beat down of the Wildfire Friday night.

Mott-Regent didn't score until the third quarter with a 61 yard pass from Brady Wegh to Tyler Zentner, barring them from a shutout. In the fourth quarter, Mott-Regent was the only team to score with an eight yard rush by Josh Wallace, with the two-point conversion good on a Wegh run.

KILLDEER -- Killdeer still remains undefeated and continues to prove their dominance in Class 1A.

The No. 3-ranked Cowboys improved to 4-0 on the season with a 47-8 win over Southern McLean Friday night.

Killdeer's quarterback Trenton Rohr went 6 of 11 for 88 yards and rushed 86 yards on 11 carries with three touchdowns, including a 55-yard punt return.

BEACH -- Shiloh Christian remains undefeated after shutting out the Beach Buccaneers 41-0 Friday night.

James Inman, Blake Emmel and A.J. Dale each rushed over 100 yards for the Sky Hawks, going 11 for 140, 9 for 103 and 11 for 100 respectively. Shiloh Christian quarterback Zac Martin went 3 of 8 for 63 yards and a 21-yard touchdown pass to Emmel in the second quarter.

HAZEN -- The Hazen football team didn't waste any time taking a commanding lead.

The Bison, the defending Class 1A champions and top-ranked team, defeated New Salem-Almont-Glen Ullin 48-15.

Connor Doll rushed for two touchdowns and threw an 85-yard touchdown pass to Nate Leintz in the second quarter. Leintz also scored on a 61-yard run, while Dominic Opp had a 70-yard touchdown run.

The Holsteins scored all 15 points in the final quarter. Zach Cofer had a 32-yard run and Collen Seeger scored on a 70-yard kick return.

STANLEY -- There was no coming back for Stanley Powers-Lake Friday night. Beulah was up 36-0 at the half and beat the Bluejays 44-12.

The biggest play of the night came in the third quarter when Beulah's Kamron Unruh scored on an 82-yard run. Stanley Powers-Lake was able to score twice in the second half, once in the third quarter on an 51-yard fumble return by Max Meiers and an eight-yard run by Tate Enget in the fourth quarter.

CENTER -- Center-Stanton scored 22 points in the in the first half and maintained their lead the entire game Friday night against Hettinger-Scranton and win 42-20.

The Wildcats were all about the big yard drives in the first quarter starting with Noah Johnson's 57-yard run. Quarterback Denny Henke had a 42-yard pass to Layne Erhardt on the second scoring drive and Matthew Krizan finished out the quarter on a 40-yard run.
