A coffin at the doorway to the Odd Fellows Lodge sets the tone for the upcoming production of 'The Weird.'

High Plains Theater to present 'The Weird'

A rustic building in downtown Dickinson provides the setting for the High Plains Production of "The Weird."

A coffin rests at the doorway as guests enter the Odd Fellows Lodge. Sound effects aren't necessary, as the building offers its own creaky sounds, especially if the wind is howling outside.

"After I read the script, it reminded me a lot of 'Tales from the Crypt' and 'Night Gallery,' director Tim Rosin said. "I really liked the common themes of horror."
