House of Manna benefits from DSU club's fundraising
The DSU Accounting Club sponsored an on-campus effort to raise funds and provide needed items to the House of Manna. More than 10 loads of items were delivered to the House of Manna, along with a check for $192.81. Funds were raised from donations and hosting Tax Day Tasties.
The support comes at a critical time for the House of Manna. Increased demand for goods continues through the first quarter of 2013. A total of 4,116 families (9,715 individuals) and 19 homeless persons were served.
House of Manna is staffed by volunteers from the community. An open invitation is extended to volunteers of all ages and abilities. It is located at 1100 E. Villard St. and is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
