Iowa man charged with sexual assault
What started out as a night of drinking may end up as five years in prison, a $5,000 fine or both for Jesse Garon Red-Hail, 30, Sioux City, Iowa.
Red-Hail was imbibing at Bernie's Esquire Club in downtown Dickinson on Thursday evening, where he allegedly grabbed a waitress' crotch as she walked by with a tray full of drinks, Dickinson Police Department Capt. Dave Wilkie said.
The cops were called shortly before 9 p.m. Red-Hail left the scene before authorities arrived, but they later caught up with him after friends alerted the police to his whereabouts, Wilkie said.
Red-Hail was charged with sexual assault, which, depending on the situation, can be up to a Class C Felony, carrying the five years' imprisonment, a $5,000 fine or both as a maximum sentence. Types of sexual assault can also be Class A and Class B misdemeanors, the latter most likely being Red-Hail's charge, according to North Dakota Century Code. A Class B misdemeanor carries a maximum sentence of a 30-day sentence, a $1,000 fine or both.
