It's windy, heavy snow expected in parts of ND

BISMARCK (AP) -- Strong winds have blanketed the Northern Plains, with heavy snow not far behind.

Much of North Dakota is under a blizzard warning. The National Weather Service says up to 10 inches of snow could fall in some areas into early Wednesday.

The snow is expected across North Dakota and into northern South Dakota. Forecasters say wind gusts of more than 50 mph in many areas will blow it around and make travel treacherous.
