Joint concert by DSU/NDSU planned
The Dickinson State University Chorale and Chamber Singers will perform their home tour concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church, 146 6th Ave. W., Dickinson. The concert is free and the public is invited.
This concert is the last stop in DSU's annual spring concert tour. This year's home tour concert coincides with North Dakota State University Concert Choir's annual spring tour stop in Dickinson, according to a press release.
Consequently, the concert will be shared between the two universities, giving audiences an opportunity to experience portions of both university concerts.
This shared concert features selections from DSU's repertoire of music, which ranges from Renaissance sacred music to popular tunes by the Beatles.
The DSU Chorale and Chamber Singers are conducted by Dr. Bruce Southard, director of choral and vocal activities. Sarah Hagenston will serve as student conductor and Cheryl Hewson is accompanist.
The NDSU Concert Choir is under the direction of Dr. Jo Ann Miller.
The NDSU Concert Choir program consists of a variety of music ranging from the early 16th century to present day.
The Madrigal Singers, under the direction of Dr. Michael Weber, will also perform at the concert.
