Juvenile arrested for hindering law enforcement in connection to Trinity fire
The Dickinson Police Department arrested a juvenile early Thursday morning for hindering law enforcement in the investigation of the Trinity High School arson, a Class C felony.
The juvenile was taken into custody at 3 a.m. Thursday at the Law Enforcement Center and shortly thereafter transported to the Youth Correctional Center in Mandan for holding until a juvenile court hearing is conducted, according to a release sent by Dickinson Police Detective Kylan Klauzer. The Dickinson Police Department does not identify juvenile arrestees to the media.
"It's pretty tight lidded, as far as any of the fine details," Klauzer said.
Thomas Sander, the former Trinity High School principal, was charged Monday with arson and endangerment by fire, both Class B felonies, after allegedly starting a fire in the filing cabinet inside the school's main office.
The Dickinson Catholic Schools Board has scheduled a meeting with Bishop David Kagen of the Diocese of Bismarck for 1 p.m. Friday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. There will be a public forum following the meeting at 2:30 p.m.
