Keith J. Ziman, 59, Dickinson, died unexpectedly in Florida on Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Keiths Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2014 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Keith Streifel as the celebrant. Entombment will follow at the Dickinson Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Friday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., Friday at Ladbury Funeral Service, with Deacon Al Schwindt presiding.
Keith was born January 15, 1954 in Dickinson, the son of Edward and Mary (Erker) Ziman. He was raised and educated in the Dodge area, having graduated from Dodge High School. He went on to attend Minot State College and Bismarck Junior College. Keith then attended the Denver Automotive and Diesel College where he earned an automotive repair degree.
He returned to Dodge and opened his own garage "Ziman Automotive", in Dodge. With his marriage to Sarah Peabody one son was born, Patrick, and his marriage to Mary Fournier, three children, Heather, Kristen and Bridget were born, and he also gained four other wonderful children.
Keith worked many odd jobs in the Twin Buttes area prior to moving to Dickinson. While in Dickinson, he went to work for the City of Dickinson Water Treatment Plant, and at the time of retirement due to medical reasons in 1997, he was plant supervisor.
He belonged to the American Water Works Association. When ever possible he enjoyed tinkering, remodeling homes, collecting coins and stamps, fireworks, but especially spending time with his grandchildren, his family and his dog Whiskey.
Keith is survived by his eight children, Patrick (Marcy) Kuntz, Richardton, Heather (Wade) Kline, Dickinson, Kristen (Shannon) Wanner, Gladstone, Bridget (Chris) Lewis, Dickinson, Laurie (James) Cardinal, Dickinson, Crystal (Travis) Hallam, Twin Buttes, Todd Taylor, Bayfield, Colo., and Corey (Shelly) Ziman, Dickinson; his father, Ed Ziman, Dickinson; 27 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Mary Ann (Clayton) Grossman, Bismarck; brother, Kevin (Cindy) Ziman, Dickinson; sister-in-law, Cindy Ziman, Beulah; and special friend, Mary Ziman. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary; and one brother, Ken Ziman.
