After a 47-8 win over Southern McLean on Friday, the Killdeer football team moved up into a tie with Larimore for No. 2 in the Class 1A poll.

The Cowboys garnered one first-place vote and 54 points. Killdeer has a 4-0 record with wins over Dickinson Trinity, Heart River and New Salem-Almont-Glen Ullin.

Hazen, which is the defending Class 1A state champions, maintained its top rankings with 14 first-place votes and 78 points.

Carrington and Rugby rounded out the top five spots in the Class 1A poll in Nos. 4 and 5, respectively.

In the 9-man poll, Cavalier retained its top spot with 12 first-place votes and 72 points. Towner-Granville-Upham is No. 2 with 58 points and Grant County-Flasher is No. 3 after garnering two first-place votes for 51 points. South Border and Shiloh Christian are the two newcomers to the 9-man rankings in Nos. 4 and 5, respectively.
