Killdeer stays in No. 3 spot at Class 1A

In the final week of the Class 1A poll, the Killdeer football team stayed in the No. 3 spot.

The Cowboys finished the season with a 7-1 record and collected 43 points. Their only loss was to top-ranked Hazen, 21-6, on Oct. 15. The Bison, which are defending Class 1A state champions, maintained its No. 1 spot throughout the entire year. Hazen garnered 13 first-place votes for 73 points and ended the regular season with an 8-0 record.

Killdeer hosts Velva in the opening round of the playoffs at 6:30 p.m. at the Biesiot Activities Center, while Hazen hosts Rugby at 12:30 p.m.

Larimore finished in the No. 2 spot with two first-place votes. Des Lacs-Burlington and North Prairie rounded out the Nos. 4 and 5 spots, respectively.

In 9-man, Cavalier was No. 1 with 13 first-place votes for 69 points and a 6-0 record. Towner-Granville-Upham finished in the No. 2 spot with a 9-0 record and 57 points. Shiloh Christian ended in the No. 3 spot, while Finley-Sharon-Hope-Pope and Grant County-Flasher finished in the Nos. 4 and 5, respectively.
