Killdeer’s Voigt joins District 39 race for dems
With just weeks before the filing deadline, Democrats now have a hat in the District 39 race.
Killdeer woman Maddison Voigt has joined the race to represent the district in the North Dakota House of Representatives. According to the website meritpages.com, Voigt recently attended Black Hills State University in Spearfish, S.D.
Watford City’s Denton Zubke has also filed to run on the Republican ticket.
District 39 stretches from McKenzie County south to Golden Valley, Billings, Slope, Bowman and Adams Counties, and includes part of Dunn County.
It is currently represented in the House by Reps. David Drovdal and Keith Kempenich. According to the Secretary of State’s office, Kempenich has filed for re-election.
The Republican candidate will be determined at the primary election June 10, leading up to the general election Nov. 4.
