Kjos to have change of plea hearing on Monday
DICKINSON - Dickinson's Jeffrey Kjos, 40, is scheduled for a change of plea hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 21.
Assistant State's Attorney Rhonda Ehlis said although Kjos was scheduled for a pretrial conference, he is expected to change his plea on Monday.
"There is a plea agreement to present," Ehlis said.
She added that if Kjos does change his plea to guilty, it will still be a few months before he is sentenced.
"There will be a pre-sentence investigation most likely and then sentencing will be set down the road," Ehlis said. "All of that will happen as long as he truly changes his plea."
According to the criminal complaint filed with the court, Kjos is facing three counts of gross sexual imposition. One count constitutes a Class AA felony, while the other two constitute Class B felonies.
Kjos is also being charged with one count of abuse or neglect of a child, a Class A felony.
Kjos is also facing one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child, which constitutes a Class C felony.
Kjos allegedly committed these crimes between the years of 2000 and 2007. His alleged victims included two females and one male, all of whom were under the age of 15 when the incidents took place.
