After Nick Klug ran the 300-meter hurdles as a junior, it marked a milestone as he, his three brothers and sister combined to compete in all 19 track and field events.

He said it was a special accomplishment to have him and his siblings compete in every event.

“It was pretty special, because we all work very hard to do it,” he said. “It is just neat to see all of us compete in everything. It’s something you don’t see very often.”

However, Klug’s biggest asset over the year has been his ability to stay consistently consistent.

Trinity co-head coach Andrew DesRosier knows every time Klug is on the track or in the field the senior will give a solid time, good distance and positive height.

“More than anything, we value Nick’s dedication,” DesRosier said. “Nick has put himself into this program. He comes to every meet and he is consistent. At this time of the year, you can’t undervalue consistency.”

In his senior season, Klug will only be competing in the high jump at the North Dakota Class track and field meet, which begins today at the Bismarck Community Bowl. Klug has a height of 5-feet, 10-inches.

“In the high jump, I can usually go in and be pretty consistent,” Klug said.

The Titans won the Southwest Region track and field meet on Saturday at the Biesiot Activities Center.

Klug feels confident the Titans can end the state meet with more hardware. He said the Titans have the capability of ending the state in one of the top five spots.

“If we all go out and compete really hard and do what we are capable of doing, we have a lot of potential to place in the top five,” he said.
