Lance was a great son, brother, soul mate, father and friend. He influenced so many people in the short time he lived. His smile and sense of humor were infectious to others. He was a genuine person who could always put a smile on your face. He was very remarkable and touched many hearts.

While at Bishop Ryan, he was part of a state championship football team and a state wrestling placer. From a young age he became a Seahawks fan because of the one and only Brian Bosworth. He was a #1 fan through their good and bad. He never wavered and was very proud to be the Seahawks 12th Man.

He met his love Gina in 2008. They built a wonderful life together, based on laughter and love. He always said that their love was "like two moo cows". They shared many special moments making a new home their own. His beautiful baby girl, Lola Beth, was born on August 30, 2010. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his little bean. Their best times together were spent reading, singing songs, getting his toenails polished, feeding the geese at Oak Park and watching the Seahawks. Lance was grateful and excited to finally be daddy to a baby boy, to be born in December, to carry on the family name. He wanted to teach him how to wrestle, play football and read. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Lance will be missed by many, but the memories will remain forever.

Memorials are preferred to the Lance Knaup Childrens Education fund at First Western Bank and Trust in Minot.

Lance is survived by his soul mate, Gina Hanson, their daughter, Lola, and son, Baby Knaup, coming in December. He is also survived by his parents, Ronald and Diane Knaup of Minot; sister, Krista (James) Schmidt of Minot; his brother, Marshall (Lindsay) Knaup of Minot; nieces and nephews, Emma and Taylor Lundeen and Adelynn Schmidt; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
